Weekly Wishes

February 3, 2014

Weekly WishesHello, my loves & happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and (of course) I can’t wait to hear all about them. Hopefully you had a better time than the Broncos’ did in last night’s game…yikes. Last week, my Weekly Wishes were to get ahead, start a new book and make some time for working out. I’m happy to say that I think I did a pretty good job on all of these, but I could probably work on getting ahead a bit more this week…is it even possible to catch up anymore?!

This week, my Weekly Wishes are:

  • Start another new book…yes, again. I read The Fault in Our Stars in four hours this past week and already am wanting to start another good read. Plus, I think I need something to distract me from the depression I sunk into after reading Stars.
  • Play catch-up with work. I decided to make it a bit more specific this week and focus on my job rather than job, school, around the house, etc. Hopefully I find this a bit more attainable!
  • Do another kettle bell workout…I did my first one this morning and LOVED it. I’d like to do another one (or five) this next week!

What are your Weekly Wishes

  • http://www.therandomwritings.com/ Rachel G

I’ve never tried kettlebells but I hear they definitely tire you out!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

They totally do! I actually just finished up a workout this morning and I (surprisingly) I have to say, they work my thighs more than anything–yikes!

  • Alisia

These are great weekly wishes! How was the book you read? I’m always looking for new books to read. One of my goals this week is to focus on work as well, I will be posting my Weekly Wishes in a few minutes.

P.S. This is my first time on your blog & I’m so happy to see that you are part of Weekly Wishes. I’m a new blogger and enjoy friends. http://www.boardingtogether.blogspot.com

It was really good– sad but amazing! I’m so glad you stopped by! :)

  • http://www.thekindside.com/ Zauni | The Kind Side

I haven’t read Fault in our Stars but I know they’re making a movie out of it, and everyone says it’s amazing so I should probably get on it! Have you read Looking for Alaska by John Green? Next to Harry Potter, it’s one of my favorite books! :)

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

I have read Looking for Alaska…amazing!! I read it a while back and that’s how I first fell in love with John Greene…what an amazing author!

  • http://lulug1975.blogspot.co.uk/ Louisa @ My Family & Abruzzo

    I’ve started the 30 Day Shred! Eeek! : /

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Ohhh, yikes! I’ve heard that’s intense– I’m sure you’ll rock it though!

  • http://clubnarwhal.blogspot.com/ Amy | Club Narwhal

I still have yet to read the Fault in Our Stars but will need to move it towards the top of my list! Way to rock the kettle bell :)

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

It was so good!! Definitely read it before June so you can see the movie when it comes out :)

  • http://sixcherriesontop.com Joni

I STILL have that book in my Kindle app and have yet to read it. I have such a desire to read more this year but already I am struggling to get it in. And reading in the evening is no good for me because I instantly fall asleep. HA!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

It is SO good!! Please, please, please read it :) hehe.

  • Wendie Willis

Omg, I balled like a BABY because of that book!!! So excited for the movie!! You need to go with Kristyn and I!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Me too, me too!!! Let’s definitely all go see it together!!

  • http://stampinmypassport.blogspot.com/ Jess Boyd

I’m always looking for new workouts to try because I usually just use the elliptical as an excuse to watch an episode of gossip girl so it doesn’t quiiiite count haha. Good luck getting ahead at work too!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Hey, whatever keeps you motivated, right?!

      • http://stampinmypassport.blogspot.com/ Jess Boyd

Better than laying in bed watching GG…

  • http://www.dearielovie.com/ Ashlee @ DearieLovie

I love Kettlebell workouts! I haven’t done one in a few months, but they’re always so good! This week, one of my wishes is to pick up The Fault in Our Stars! I’ve been going back and forth on reading it forever, but after seeing the trailer (and tearing up), I knew it was time to bite the bullet.

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

I hope you enjoy it, Ashlee! It was so, sooo good! I can’t remember the last time I read a book that fast!

  • http://www.91dash.com/ Aukele | 91DASH

OH kettlebells!! Go girl. I had one, I don’t know where it went though. I have this kettlebell workout on DVD from Bob Harper and that thing is killer. Cardio with weight training all in one. Now I want to get another one and join you!! Good luck this week lady :)

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

You should and we can be kettle bell pals! :)

  • Heather Davis

Oh my gosh, it’s like you’re in my head! The Fault In Our Stars is on my list to read after the book I’m reading now… The Hunger Games! I’ve seen the movie but never read the book…….Have a lovely week!

    xo,
    Heather

I read the first Hunger Games book and then never picked up the rest in the trilogy… love the movies though! I hope you enjoy TFIOS…it was incredible.

  • http://www.ourhollydays.com/ Holly Sosa

Catching up is always hard. Good luck!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Thanks, Holly! It looks like I’m going to need it!

  • http://bitsofdays.com/ Zia @ Bits of Days

What do you think of the book? I asked my friend about it and he said Looking for Alaska was better :/

  • http://www.ollivandermo.com/ Mo Olivas

TFioS is by far my favorite John Green book. And John Green is my favorite author. So I guess TFioS is my favorite book! Lol. I would suggest any of his other books (except for An Abundance of Katherines…that was okay..) BUT his books are almost all sad to some degree..haha. I would suggest “Eleanor and Park” by Rainbow Rowell, which I read last month or “Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell which I’m currently reading!

    • http://livingwhatyoulove.com/ Robyn Petrik

Haha, too funny Mo, I just commented telling Kayli that Katherines was my favourite John Green book. To each their own hey? :) I’m also loving Rainbow Rowell lately! Fangirl was great, and I just started Attachments last night.

      • http://www.ollivandermo.com/ Mo Olivas

Lol! I guess so. It may have been because I got Katherines as an audiobook though, so maybe I should go back and actually read it! AHH! I’m not through with Fangirl yet, but it speaks to me on so many levels! I’m such a fangirl.

        • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

I’ll have to read it! I heard it was a great read and I think my sister owns it, I’ll have to borrow!!

  • http://www.estherandjacob.com/ esther julee

I liked the book. :) what’s next on your list? I tend to use books to escape sometimes too. Best of luck on your weekly wishes!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

I just chose Where’d You Go, Bernadette? and am loving it so far– a fun, easy read! Books are such a great escape :)

  • http://callmesassafras.com/ Allie // Call Me Sassafras

Ooh, I think kettlebells sounds fun! Do you take a class at a gym or what?! I’ve been dying to go to a kickboxing class but I just have to have someone to go with me, at least the first time!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

I’ve been wanting to try kickboxing for the longest time now!! Maybe I’ll have to take a few lessons sometime, I always see them pop-up on my Groupon app! And Kettlebells are so fun! I don’t take a class at a gym– I have a smart TV so I access YouTube on there and move my coffee table and probably disturb my downstairs neighbors in the morning ;)

  • http://livingwhatyoulove.com/ Robyn Petrik

Love John Green! An Abundance of Katherines is my favourite of his. The TFioS trailer just came out this week, lots of hype surrounding it!

Also, what kind of a kettle bell workout did you do? I was really into kettle bells a few years ago, and have been contemplating maybe getting back into them.

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

I want to read An Abundance of Katherines so bad! My sister owns it, so I’ll have to borrow it from her :) The trailer for TFioS was so sad…I think I’ll be balling when I watch the movie! And I choose my kettlebell workouts on YouTube…they have tons of great ones! I absolutely love them. I put ‘em on the TV and get to work in the convenience of my living room, so that’s a plus too! ;p

  • http://mrsgaeul.com/ Autumn

Yay, I just rented The Fault in Our Stars from Audible last week. John Greene is from my hometown so it has to be good. My husband loves to watch his YouTube channels, too. Good luck this week!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Thanks, Autumn and I hope you enjoy TFioS!! It was such a great novel. John Greene really out does himself…such a wonderful author!

  • http://spuddybuddies.com/ Raine and Skye

I have always wanted to try using kettle bells. Maybe after I sign up for the gym near our place! What kind of kettle bell workout did you do?
Good luck with your goals!~ And I, too, find the catching up process endless!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Definitely try it out when you get the chance! :) I just choose my workouts on YouTube, they have so many great ones that really get ya moving if you have the space in your home!

  • http://www.chelseawardart.com/ Chelsea Ward

Good idea to focus on just your job goals this week, I always feel like if I spread out my goals too much that I accomplish less. Now I feel like I should have added some gym time to my goals this week. Good luck on your list!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Thanks for the well wishes, Chelsea! It looks like I’ll be needing them! ;)

  • http://www.kateandtrudy.com/ Jessica Leigh

I want to read The Fault in Our Stars so badly! It’s definitely on my reading queue.
    have a great week!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Let me know when you read it, Jessica!! Such a good read :) hope you’re having a fabulous week!

  • http://www.thehomeyowl.blogspot.com/ Stacia

I’m reading The Fault in Our Stars right now and balancing it out with Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. Both are wonderful and very different from each other.

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Oh, that sounds like an interesting book– I’ll have to check it out!

  • http://www.agirlsmitten.com/ Sarah @ A Girl Smitten

I think that I officially need to read that book. I have heard so many good things about it. It’s going to be next, right after The Goldfinch! And oooh kettle bells! I have really wanted to do these more often!

    • http://www.kayliwanders.com/ Kayli Schattner

Yes, yes, yes– read it!! I’ll have to check-out The Goldfinch, what’s it about? I’m always looking for books to add to my reading list :)
