Okay, so, I planned out this post months ago. And I’m not talking a simple June or May, or even April…I mean way back in February. Yep. Obviously, I was seriously lacking (this blog took way long to get up and running!) but I’m glad I can finally proclaim my love for…
Vovomeena is one of the most amazing brunch places I have ever come across. The vibe is so fun and the people behind the counters are even better (dare I say?) than the decadent Pain Perdu I ordered. And that, my friends, was…WOW. It was banana bread pudding french toast slathered in whiskey carmel…yeah, I wasn’t lying.
If Pain Perdu isn’t your thing (which after the description, means your probs certifiably crazy) they have a whole slew of options! I’d recommend trying their Mexican Benedict or Savory Crepes.
Case Numero Uno for my Vovomeena employee theory, my newly proclaimed BFF for the day, Ben. I asked what the house specialty was and he quickly clued me in on their (yet again, amazing), Japanese Cold Brew Coffee. He also posed for my pictures and even offered to show me how the whole process worked!
I consider myself a coffee conesuier (coffee is a food group, right?) and Ben’s suggestion fell nothing short of my high expectations. The method includes steeping the coffee grounds for a prolonged period of time (word on the street is about eight hours) to help get rid of all of those yucky tastes that we just don’t like. Those aforementioned yucky tastes include bitterness and over-the-top acidity for example.
The outcome: A clean tasting (can you even imagine that?) and flavorful cup of joe.
By the way, I wrote this when it was chilly outside. Can you think about how divine it would taste during these hot AZ summers?? Yum!
Lucky for you, you can buy the Mornin’ Moonshine for only $9.95!! This makes about four glasses of the brew and allows you to enjoy the beverage in the comfort of your own home. And maybe even lie tell your friends or Mom-in-Law that you made the beverage all on your own. Not that I’ve done that or anything…
Vovomeena is open from 6:30-1:30 so be sure to stop in early (it gets crowded, especially on the weekends, folks!) and grab a cup of the moonshine and one of the yummy eats off of their menu. They also have a great outdoor seating area!
Make sure you follow their Facebook page, here. They always post the most amazing looking specials and offers for fresh baked goodies!
