Looking to make your sweetie a special Valentines Day treat? These heart shaped pie pops will do the trick! I made Nutella + apple filled and let’s just say, they were devoured.
- 2 packages of pre-made pie crust
- Pie Pop sticks (or cake pop sticks)
- 1 egg
- Heart shaped sprinkles
- Apple Comstock
- Heart shaped cut-out
First off, you’ll want to cool your first package of pie dough to package directions. Once cooled, roll-out and pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
Next, you’ll want to lightly cover the dough in sprinkles and firmly press them in.
Let’s get to the fun part! Start using your heart shaped cut-outs and get to cutting.
Set those to the side and let your next package of pie dough cool. Once cooled, roll-out, and cut-out heart shapes.
Crack the egg and separate only the egg-white into a bowl. Set the non-sprinkled hearts onto a flat surface and brush the egg-white on. Next, take either 2 tea spoons of Nutella or Apple Comstock on top. Put your pie pop stick half-way through the heart. Once set, put a sprinkle heart directly on top.
Use a fork and gently press the edges of the heart together to seal the filling and brush egg-white over the top.
Put into the oven for 12-minutes or until the edges become golden brown.
